The Colored Stone Co. ships fine jewellery internationally, with the entire process handled over WhatsApp — from your first message to delivery at your door. Here is exactly how it works, what it costs, and what to expect.

You do not need to be in Sri Lanka, or ever visit in person, to order from us. The process is the same one we use for every custom order — just conducted entirely by WhatsApp and bank transfer.
- Message us with your budget, design ideas, and any timeline you're working to.
- Confirm your design and pay a deposit — this secures your order and starts the stone-sourcing process.
- We source your stone and send real photos and video before anything is set, so you know exactly what you're getting.
- We craft your piece in our Colombo workshop — most custom orders take 2–4 weeks, with more complex designs taking up to 5 weeks.
- We ship it to you, insured, via FedEx or EMS, with tracking details sent as soon as it's dispatched.
Shipping & Insurance
We ship using two couriers, depending on your location and how quickly you need your piece:

Every international shipment is insured as standard — there's no separate insurance fee to add.
Duties, Taxes & Who Pays
We don't currently offer a duties-paid (prepaid) option. Import duty and tax rates are set by your own country's customs authority and vary by destination, item value, and category — we'll confirm the shipping cost and any details we know at the time of your order, but we recommend checking with your local customs office beforehand if the potential cost matters to your decision.
Pricing in LKR (With Approximate Conversions)
All of our pricing is in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) — there are no hidden markups for international orders. The figures below are approximate conversions at time of writing (September 2026) to help you budget; the exact LKR amount is always what's confirmed and charged.

Where We Ship
We ship worldwide, and the process is the same no matter where you are: message us on WhatsApp to start your order, and we'll take care of the shipping and logistics specific to your location from there. Design and deposit over WhatsApp, real photos before anything is finalised, insured shipping via FedEx or EMS, and duties/taxes are the customer's responsibility at your destination — set by your own country's customs authority, not by us.
Returns & Resizing From Abroad
Returns are available on ready-made pieces, but not on made-to-order or fully custom pieces — these are crafted specifically to your brief. Where a return is eligible, the customer covers all shipping and any related costs.
If a piece needs resizing after it arrives, we can help — it will need to be shipped back to our Colombo workshop, with the customer covering shipping both ways.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Message us on WhatsApp to start your order, and we'll take care of the shipping details for your location as part of the process — the same first step for every order, wherever you are.
How long does international shipping take?
We ship via FedEx (typically 3–5 days) or EMS (typically around 2 weeks), and every international shipment is insured by default at no extra cost.
Who pays customs duties and import taxes?
The customer. Duties and import taxes are set by your destination country and are your responsibility to pay — we don't currently offer a duties-included (prepaid) option. Rates vary by country, so we recommend checking with your local customs authority if this is a concern before ordering.
How do I pay for an order from abroad?
By bank transfer. We'll confirm the exact amount in LKR and send transfer details once your design and price are finalised.
Can I return an item if I'm ordering from abroad?
Returns are available on ready-made pieces, but not on made-to-order or fully custom pieces, since these are crafted specifically for you. On eligible returns, the customer covers all shipping and any related costs.
Can I get my ring resized after it's delivered internationally?
Yes. Resizing is available, but the piece needs to be shipped back to our Colombo workshop — the customer covers shipping both ways.
How long does a custom order take if I'm ordering remotely?
The same as a local order: most custom pieces are ready within 2–4 weeks from design approval and deposit, with more complex designs taking up to 5 weeks. Shipping time is separate, on top of production time.
Do the LKR prices include everything?
No — shipping is calculated separately and added at checkout based on your destination and courier, so it isn't included in the LKR price shown here. Beyond that, our pricing is transparent with no hidden fees on our end; the only other additional cost is the customs duty your own country may charge on import, which we don't control and doesn't appear on our invoice.
